I started taking vitamin D3 in 2020 when I heard the benefits of it helping with your immune system. I wasn't sure of the dosage so initially I was taking 10,000 IU, and then 5,000, and also I've tried 2,000 capsules. I feel that 5,000 is the perfect amount for me in the winter time because I need more immune support at this time of year and I am receiving less sunlight here in the snowy northeast. I also receive D3 in a few other supplements and multivitamins that I take.
When I started taking it in 2020, I couldn't believe how much better it made me feel. I really think I was lacking it in my diet and after less than a week I just felt better all around. My mood and energy levels were much improved. If I could recommend one vitamin to people this would be it.
It was then I knew that I would continue taking these after the pandemic and I have nearly every day since. There are days in the summer I don't take if I've gotten a lot of sunlight, and I may go back to 2000 IUs in the summer, but I will take D3 and K2 for the rest of my days.
It is nice these capsules also include vitamin K2 because that is what helps your body use the D3 for your immune system, and if you just take D3 then you could get a vitamin K deficiency.
